BEFORE

Evelyn Bio

Evelyn-believes in training for life - there is no off-season when it comes to leading a healthy lifestyle. During her eight years as a paramedic, Evelyn  came to understand the importance of preventative medicine and proper nutrition as she helped people live through their medical emergencies. She saw that medicine could save lives, but living healthy, balanced lives requires more than traditional interventionist medicine can produce or sustain. Her own life tested this belief when a debilitating ambulance crash ended Evelyn’s paramedic career and left her facing years of rehabilitation. As she fought to regain her strength and fitness, Evelyn saw nutrition’s role in both physical and mental health first hand. Motivated by her love of the ocean and desire to understand physical and mental healing, she  pursued a Bachelor  of Arts  in Biology  from the University of San Diego. Degree in hand, Evelyn looked to help others find their way through the maze of medical and fitness advice and became a certified nutritionist through the innovative program  at San Diego State University. Her work with Dr. Filbeck, MD, a distinguished integrative and sports medicine doctor, and as a hyperbaric technician at UCSD’s Department of Hyperbaric Medicine further developed her unique perspective on total wellness. Now that she is working with Optimal Nutrition as a health and wellness coach, she wishes to inspire clients to be strong in body so that they will feel strong in mind and spirit. Because of her life experiences, Evelyn has a desire to share with people the importance of eating and living well.
